HowTo Use BossTactics

Basical view

The left side

On the top you have four buttons. The first (from the left) makes you choose the Addon, the current addon is always standard. At the moment there are no tactics for standard WoW included.
The second lets you choose the instance sorted by continent.
The third comes up if you have chosen an instance and lets you choose the boss, to show you its tactics.
The forth is for BC not important, because only in WOTLK it is possible to make an instance in 25 and 10 mode.

The image pane

on the top you can switch with the arrows between the images if there are more than one for this boss. It is very usefull, if you must change position in many phases.

The functionality buttons

At the bottom you can see some buttons.
"Info" will show you some copyrights information
"save" you can use, if a raidleader changed the view by explaining, for example renamed buttons etc. and you like to keep that forever.
"recover standard" will just undo your save.
"reset session" will bring you back to the view you had befor the raidleader started a session and moved everything. You can choose this after a session.
"synchronize" is important, if you lost synchronisatzion because of a disconnect or if you klickt to another boss or image.
"Tactic mode" this button is not shown above. You can only see it if you are not in a raid. This is mainly for raidleaders who want to prepare the tactics. It releases the buttons and makes them movable ect.

The right pane

This view changed since 1.0. Now it is possible to create lots of your own tactic texts. Therefore the tactics which come with the addon are always labled "BossTactics". The "x" Button delets the current shown tactic (the standard can never be deleted). "New Text" creates a new Text containing the current text. Give it a good name ;). "Trash" switches between trash tactics and boss tactics of the current boss. You can also save your own notes to the trash. The last button gives you a list of all the available Texts.

Chat

There are some chat cannels for your use. If you use some different locale to english you can see the specific commands if you type /bt
Here is a list of the current available channels:
- Healer
- Rage DD
- Melee
- Tank
- All classes
You can send chat messages by the command:
/bt <channel> <message>
you can find out how your channels are called by typing /bt
You can join a channel by /bt join <channel>
You can quit a channel by /bt quit <channel>
You can see what peoble are in your channel by /bt chatinfo <channel>
You can see to what channels you are connected by /bt chaninfo
Important: The chat is only available if you are belonging to a raid!

Camera Distance

Sometimes it is good to have a much higher distance for your camera. There is a big chat command for that, which is implemented by the command /bt cameradistancemax. I hope it is better to remember than "/console set cameraDistanceMaxFactor=5".
